What Will Your Legacy Be?

Ivy Child International is a global health leader committed to transforming communities through exemplary mindfulness teaching in world-class systems of education and care. Since its inception in 2011, Ivy Child International has been a champion for health equity. At the heart of Ivy Child’s mission is the belief that when you provide any individual access to learn and practice mindfulness, it not only enhances their direct well-being, it also ripples out to benefit all of those in their outer world (peers, neighbors, family, larger community). This is Ivy Child International’s Mindfulness Multiplier Effect ™.

Ivy Child International’s focus is on building the capacity of systems of education and care, with a special emphasis on urban populations. By partnering with systems of education and care, we provide cross-cultural mindfulness-based education programs to help children, families, and adults from diverse communities of need, improve their social, emotional, and physical well-being through the provision of multicultural frames and research-informed practices.

With a planned gift, you can create a meaningful legacy and help us ensure that future generations are able to experience the transformative impact of mindfulness.

HOW TO GIVE

Gifts in a Will or Living Trust

A charitable gift from your estate is a favored method of giving that enables you to achieve your financial goals, maintain management of your assets, and benefit Ivy Child International.

Beneficiary Designations

While you may transfer many of your assets through your will or living trust, a beneficiary designation manages distribution of your retirement plans, life insurance policies, commercial annuities and a variety of financial accounts.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A charitable gift annuity provides fixed payments to you or others you designate by name for life in exchange for your gift of cash or securities.

Deferred Charitable Gift Annuity

A deferred gift annuity provides fixed payments to you or others you name for life in exchange for your gift of cash or securities. The payments start on a date you choose that is at least one year after you make the gift.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

A charitable remainder unitrust can help you maintain or increase your income while making a significant gift to Ivy Child International. The charitable remainder unitrust is highly flexible. You can easily make gifts of assets that are not easily converted to cash using the unitrust. If your unitrust grows, your payments will grow too, providing a potential hedge against inflation.

The IRA Gift (QCD)

The IRA charitable rollover is now permanent and is a great way to make a tax-free gift to Ivy Child International using your qualified retirement plan. This gift may also satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD).

Retained Life Estates

Your home is one of your most valuable assets. With a retained life estate, you can give your home to us now, but continue to live in it for as long as you wish.

Make a greater gift than you might have thought possible and receive immediate tax benefits without changing your living situation.

A retained life estate may be right for you if:

  • You want to continue to live in your home.
  • You do not plan to pass on your home to family or other heirs.
  • You itemize your income tax deductions and want to save on income taxes now.
  • You want to make a significant gift to Ivy Child International.

WHAT TO GIVE

The following assets are most commonly used to fund a gift:

Cash

One of the most common ways to make a gift to Ivy Child International  is to write a check, make a gift using a credit card, or donate online.

Stocks and Bonds

Giving appreciated stock that you have owned for more than one year is one of the most tax-advantaged ways to make charitable gifts. With careful planning, you can reduce your capital gains tax while supporting Ivy Child International.

Retirement Assets

A gift of your retirement assets, such as an employee retirement plan, IRA, or tax-sheltered annuity, is an excellent way to make a gift. A gift of these assets can shield your heirs from taxes while funding the Foundation’s future.

Life Insurance

Life insurance is a valuable asset for making a charitable gift. You can make a gift of a life insurance policy without diminishing other investments or assets earmarked for family members.

Real Estate

A gift of real estate allows you to preserve your cash assets, receive tax and income advantages, and make a significant charitable gift to the Foundation.
