Community Champions: Youth-led Equity Initiative

INTRODUCTION:
This one-of-a-kind philanthropy program aims to foster a spirit of philanthropy, leadership, and community engagement among youth in historically marginalized communities. It engages young people in charitable activities and promotes a culture of giving abundantly across multiple spheres of society. These unique programs provide opportunities for young individuals to develop leadership skills, empathy, and an authentic sense of social responsibility.
Ivy Child will provide young individuals with the knowledge, resources, and hands-on experience in philanthropy. This program seeks to empower youth to make a positive impact on their communities while developing essential skills as equity activists.
It extends over six months and offers a holistic approach to empowering young individuals to become compassionate leaders, active community participants, and philanthropic change-makers. By combining education, hands-on experiences, mentorship, and community engagement, the program equips participants with essential skills, fosters social responsibility, and addresses local social issues.
The post-program engagement and alumni network provide a platform for continued growth, mentorship, and sustained civic engagement, ensuring the program’s lasting impact and fostering a community of youth leaders dedicated to making a positive difference.
By implementing this youth philanthropy program, young leaders will have the opportunity to develop essential skills, become catalysts for change, and contribute to the betterment of the community.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
- Educate and Engage: Provide comprehensive education and training on philanthropy, community needs, and nonprofit organizations to build a solid foundation of understanding.
- Personal Development: Youth philanthropy programs empower young individuals to become active agents of change, fostering personal growth, self-confidence, leadership skills, and a greater sense of connection with their community.
- Cultivate Social Responsibility: Promote a sense of social responsibility, empathy, and a lifelong commitment to philanthropy and community service.
- Enhance Collaboration: Foster collaboration and partnerships among youth participants.

APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
Community Champions: Youth-led Equity Initiative is open to all youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years with a special focus on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
Key Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Range: Applicants must be between 12 and 18 years old at the time of application submission.
Commitment to Personal Growth: the program seeks youth who are committed to their personal growth, social and emotional well-being, and becoming change agents within the community. A passion for learning, empathy, and a willingness to engage in transformative experiences are essential qualities sought in potential participants.
